McCammon agrees Braintree deal

Former Gillingham striker Mark McCammon has signed a deal with Blue Square Premier side Braintree Town.

The 33 year old forward was released by Gillingham at the end of his three year contract and has been without a club so far this season.

McCammon had an injury blighted time at Priestfield, scoring just five goals in sixty two appearances and had a loan spell with Bradford City at the end of the 2010/11 season.

The former Doncaster Rovers and Millwall striker last played for Gillingham against today’s opponents Port Vale in October 2010 before being cast aside by Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler.

McCammon joins a Braintree side that sits fourth in the Conference Premier and is expected to stay with Alan Devonshire’s side until the end of the season.
